Schools Based Youth Work

Youth workers and youth work organisations are involved in a range of initiatives and programme which compliment and support the work of schools and formal education. These initiatives range from youth workers involved in Alternative Education Provision, through, youth workers delivering accredited programmes within schools to youth workers providing issue specific programmes and youth workers providing informal support to young people experiencing difficulty in school.

 

If you would like to add an example of youth work practice from linked to a school or formal education you can discuss this with the Curriculum Development Officers in the unit. They can provide guidance of possible content and format.
